The Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group is specifically mandated to monitor respect for the rule of law within Commonwealth member countries and take appropriate action in response to any abuse. Professional associations such as the Commonwealth Lawyers Association and the Commonwealth Magistrates and Justices Association are also engaged in maintaining and promoting the rule of law throughout the Commonwealth. Working with national affiliates and civil society, these groups actively monitor respect for the rule of law in Commonwealth countries and respond to concerns when and where there has been a breach.
